Bro. Josh’s Bible Thoughts: Intolerant, In a Tolerant World

Bro. Josh’s Bible Thoughts: Intolerant, In a Tolerant World
Ok, yet another chapter in the rants on Tolerence, Freemasonry, and what Christ thinks. I am amazed at the candor of some on their beliefs, but then not surprised at this really. here is my response (becasue that site does not allow comments), I will place them here. The italics are the words of “Bro. Josh”. He affectionally calles me “Mr. Critic” Enjoy.

Me, Intolerant?

Me Intolerant? Absolutely! If Intolerant means that God’s truth is the only absolute truth, then I’m Intolerant. If it means God’s absolute truth is found only in the pages of the 66 books of the preserved Holy Bible, then I’m Intolerant. If it means I contend that Jesus Christ was and is God manifest in the flesh, and that He alone is the way to God, Heaven, and Eternal Life, and no other way will work, then yes I’m intolerant. If it means that I believe that I have a right to accept only such teaching and practices as line up with God’s Word, and to rebuke and reject all other fallacies, then I’m absolutely, positively, un-ashamedly, un-apologetically, 100% Intolerant!

The problem here is that this intolerent infringes on other peoples beliefs and faith. This intolerance leads to doors being kicked in, differing opinions silenced, and a LACK of compassion. Having fervent faith is fine, so long as it does not infringe on someone else. Passion like this leads to people strapping bombs on their belts to blow up school children.

Freemasonry is not a religion, as “Bro. Josh” writes, but a fraternity of spiritually minded men.

No need to refer to me as “Mr. Critic”, my name is on my blog, but I appreciate your attempt at baiting me.

From “Bro. Josh ” I don’t think people are wrong because they believe differently than me. But I know others are wrong if they believe differently than the Bible teaches.” “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17) This is a round about statement. “I” don’t think their wrong, but I know others are”? What the heck does that mean? Who are “they” and who are the “others”?

From “Bro. Josh ” ~ I don’t “assume Christianity has a choke hold on the world”. In fact I believe the opposite is true, it’s the Devil that has people by the throat. “In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2Corinthians 4:4) Mr.Critic is assuming that I’m assuming something that I’m not. Remember Mr. Critic, what happens when you “assume”. Wow, double assumption there. I’m assuming that your assuming? That sounds like an assumption to me? And I do, it makes and ass out of you and me. The intent in that line, that you obviously missed, is that Christians do not have a monopoly on the world and what it should think.

From “Bro. Josh ” ~ Mr. Critic, if the purpose of the meeting was something besides “mixing of the faiths”, then why did George W. say that those present were: “united in our dedication to peace & tolerance & humility before the Almighty.” (George W.) Is not tolerance before the Almighty a mixing of faiths?
It is, and I think the comment was more directed at your comments on the meeting. Did you miss that?

From “Bro. Josh ~ My grief with George W. isn’t that he sat down and ate breakfast with those people, but that he claims to be a Christian, and most Christians hold him up as such, yet he’s adjoining himself spiritually to somethings that are not Christian.
“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” (2 John vv. 10-11)
Ok, but he’s not a Christian Arch-Bishop, some defender of the faith, he’s a NON RELIGIOUS leader, and needs to act as such. Because he has faith is inconsequential. Just because he proclaims to be Christian does not mean he can wear it on his sleeve. He operates in a secular world, not in a church. Because you prop him up and proclaim him holy, does that make his decisions more palatable to you? He should be secular to appeal to the masses, not patrician to the “Christians” who want to dictate to the rest of the world how they should act and live. That is INTOLERANT. Look the word up. Some examples of past intolerance: Sadam Hussein and the Kurds (millions killed), the Nazi’s to the Jews (several million killed), the Catholic Inquisition and the “heretics” (several thousand killed). From your outlook, would you add the Radical Christians to this list?

From Bro. Josh ~ That I am adamant about an intolerant faith in Christ, I’m guilty as charged. I make no denial.
“…ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.” (Jude v. 3b)
” I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

From Bro. Josh ~I’m not sure how Mr. Critic connects my faith in Jesus Christ, with a racial issue. I believe all races of people should have equal liberties, and I always have, as True Christians traditionally have, down through the centuries. (I do however believe blacks and whites sholudn’t “mix” as Mr. Critic put it, for reasons I won’t discuss right now, but it has nothing to do with any race being inferior to another.)
Ok, this one threw me, so your true racist colors stand out now…and remember, your a supporter of George W. and Christ, but did Christ not want to mix with the Grecians or the Romans? Wow.

From “Bro. Josh ~I’m not sure why Mr. Critic thinks I would want to harm Jews. Again, True Christians have traditionally had a special place in their hearts for God’s chosen nation of people. Theirs is the only race that God promised perpetual generations, and gave an everlasting covenant to. No other race of people can say that. They still however, need faith in Jesus Christ to be saved. “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer for Israel is, that they might be saved.” (Romans 10:1) The gospel truth is, that anyone who teaches a false plan of salvation, an accursed doctrine, a false hope, (such as FreeMasons, Muslims, Jews, New Agers, etc…)those people are the ones leading men into a furnace, that is, The Lake of Fire (Hell).
Freemason’s don’t teach a “gospel” of salvation. It’s not a religion, how many times does this need to be repeated? But then, maybe your just not listening.

From “Bro. Josh ~Intolerance does lead to hatred, but not from the direction that Mr. Critic is saying. The hatred is toward Bible Believing Christians, and their Saviour, Jesus.
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” (John 15: 18-19) And what leads from hatred, violence. I tell ya, it’s not to long in the coming from them.

From “Bro. Josh ~ Mr. Critic, Christ’s message IS one of division.
“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34)

From Bro. Josh ~Mr. Critic, I agree with you that “Freemasonry can easily be a conduit to open communication between faiths” (Mr. Critic). The reason being, it holds to no one faith. The problem is, the Bible says there is only ONE FAITH! ” One Lord, one faith, one baptism,” (Ephesians 4:5) “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (1 Timothy 2:5)
Right, this message is from your bible, and balanced with your intolerant, non-race mixing hate filled heart. And that’s what Jesus would want? You frighten me to think that you have a voice to preach hatred like this.

He goes on and on here about his faith and belief to his readership, validating himself and his faith. The key take-aways here is he admits to intolerance, he admits to separating the races, he admits to being a Christian and that he supports George W. Ironic the things you can pull out of a conversation. It seems on the verge of rage, and just on the tip of violence, of course with the backing of violence with this verse….
“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34)

In conclusion, you will never understand that your opinion is wrong or misguided. You have hatred in your heart, and you enjoy nurturing that. There is no changing your opinion.

  1. God be with you, Traveller. You’ve uncovered a Josh to beat all Joshes, if you know what I mean. I don’t even wanna start wrangling with this one.

Where does such intolerance come from? It’s inherent in the Bible. I’m afraid it’s inherent in Christianity. “Believe! Or die, heretic scum!” seems to be the battle cry of the Christian Soldiers, marching as to war! The message of love has been twisted into a blind zeal to suppress or annihilate anyone who dares think outside its pre-defined box. This is the kind of intolerance wars and Inquisitions, stonings and witch drownings are made of.

  2. “Believe! Or die, heretic scum!” seems to be the battle cry of the Christian Soldiers, marching as to war! (widow’s son)

I’ve been a Christian most of my life. I’ve never heard that phrase or had that attitude. My zeal for Christ in no way leads me to want to hurt people. There’s no foundation for that claim. You’re wrong if you think I believe that, and your a liar if you say I’m aiming at doing that.

In a few years, Christians won’t be getting more violent. The government and people like you who claim to love everybody equally, will be trying to lock Christians up in mental hospitals or prison.

Being firm in what I believe it takes to get to God, doesn’t for one minute insinuate that I wish ill will or harm toward others. I can’t and don’t wish to force my belief on any body, you have every right to reject Jesus Christ and spend eternity in Hell, if you so choose. But I’m not going to be the one who sends you there.

  3. Masonic Traveler,

I truly have enjoyed our discussions, however, it is very clear that you are trying to smear my name on your site. You have quoted me in the opening statements, and then someone else throughout the entire site.

This is a warning – quote me accurately – or don’t quote me at all.

I am formally asking you to remove these FASLE quotations from your site –

    Josh Buice

  4. ———————————————–

I was reading Mr. Masonic Traveler’s blog – and he took liberty to misquote and place words in my mouth that I NEVER STATED in any form. He did not just twist the words – He opened my mouth and placed them in my mouth. I have asked him to REMOVE these false quotations from his site – and I have formally warned him for his actions.

It is also clear that someone with the title “bro. Josh” has piped into the conversation on his blog – obviously trying to smear my name – as you can see my user name is “Josh Buice” – not “bro. Josh” as you see on his site.

Therefore, I am now removing my self from this conversation and any future conversations with these men who are not willing to accept the truth. I love them with the love of Christ – but I will not allow my name to be smeared on these websites by misquotations. It is painful to see their open disrespect for God’s Holy Word – and their degradation of Jesus Christ – My Lord and Savior.

For the glory of God and the God of glory!

    Josh Buice

  5. Pastor Josh (Buice), this is not a smear campaign. the quotes were lifted from your posting. I simply copied and pasted. If I’m mistaken, then I mis-read your comments. As for linking you to “Bro. Josh”, ironically, he is an evangelical from Kentucky too (according to his blog) and he shares many of your views and love of verse. The only parallel I find here is the tone of the conviction. If that is offensive, then so be it. But know who shares your opinions. Follow the link to “Br. Josh’s” site, or if you can’t find it, here it is:

  6. Actually I’m from Tennessee. I don’t think my blog says KY, but if it does it’s a mistake. Maybe this will help in the confusion.

    Bro. Josh- from TN

  7. Br. Josh, thanks for giving your clarification. I appreciate it!
